Bravelands Wiki

Tendril was a female baboon who lead Crookedtree Troop, before being captured by Dawntrees Troop and being demoted to Deeproot. Berry planned to have her executed in revenge for what she did to Pear, However she changed her mind after thinking about Thorn's criticism of her vendetta and agreed to spare Tendril and her followers as long as they leave Dawntrees Troop and spend the rest of the days in exile. Tendril agrees and leads her troop into an unknown forest region instead of Leopard Forest where they intended to spent the rest of their days. However Crookedtree Troop's exile was short lived when a fire broke out killing the entire Troop (Sans Tendril and her newborn son who was born into-exile). They spend an unknown amount of time as a single pair without the protection of a Troop. As a result, Tendril and Seedling struggle to survive so she turns to Thorn for help when she learns that he is the great-parent despite their unpleasant history since she was desperate and had a son to protect.

Appearance[]

Tendril was a slender, pale-furred, female baboon with skinny muscles and long-fingered elegant paws. She had a hollow face, and huge dark gold eyes. After her Troop-mates were killed in a forest fire, Tendril became battered, ragged up and emaciated after being forced to fend for herself and her son.

Personality[]

Tendril is shown to be merciful, well towards Thorn and Nut at least, if they'll become permanent members of Crookedtree Troop, as she'd been cautious towards outsiders since her predecessor had allowed a stranger join their troop long ago before that stranger committed treason.

However after Thorn and Nut leave with a large portion of her troop, she holds a grudge against the two, along with the portion of Crookedtree Troop for deserting her. Her anger causes her to turn vengeful, even though Thorn never returned to Crookedtree Troop to harm them. Although, when anyone tries, to reason with her, Tendril refuses to listen which is shown when Pear Goodleaf who was a former member of Crookedtree Troop attempts to negotiate and even heals her former crownleaf behind Dawntrees's back only to be unreasonable and break the code by murdering the poor Goodleaf instead of being grateful for Pear's generosity. She also wanted to wipe out all of Dawntrees, including the infants, and would have succeeded if it weren't for Thorn and co. However, after living with the remnants of Crookedtree Troop in exile, she faced many hardships while bearing a daughter in the process which prompted her to put her animosity towards Thorn aside for the sake of her child. Tendril even went so far as declare herself as a Deeproot for the rest of her life after Thorn sent her and Seedling to reside in the Vulture Mountain.

The Spirit-Eaters[]

Sometime after Tendril and her followers were exiled by Berry Crownleaf, she and her Troop-mates settled in an unknown forest. There she became pregnant with Seedling and bore him sometime later. However tragedy befell the troop when a forest fire broke out in the territory, destroying everything in it's path. All of Crookedtree Troop was destroyed except for Tendril and Seedling. With her troop gone, Tendril was forced to care for herself and her child. They faced many hardships that prompted Tendril to seek out Thorn for help despite their previous encounters. Thorn sent her and her son to Vulture Mountain where Tendril promised to spend her life in exile. Unfortunately, Tendril was ambushed and killed by Creeper, leaving Seedling to fend for herself.
