Pear Goodleaf is the mother of Berry and the former mate of Stinger. She was murdered by Tendril and her body was found by Thorn in a cave. When Thorn and co. reported their findings to Berry, she grew to hate Tendril with murderous fury. Following Tendril's capture, Berry and her Crownguard intended to kill Tendril in revenge. But since killing Tendril would violate the code, Berry decided against this and allowed Tendril and her follower's to live the rest of their days in exile.
Appearance[]
Pear is described as an older baboon with streaky gold fur and a crease at the corner of her mouth.
Biography[]
Pre-series[]
7 years ago, Pear gave birth to Stinger's daughter, Berry. While she was proud to have a family with Stinger, this would all change when Stinger revealed his true colors. She witnessed her mate kill the troop's Crownleaf and when she questioned Stinger, he fled but not before kidnapping their daughter. Stinger's actions also caused the Troop to become more wary and less trusting of other baboons while Pear became mute for the next 7 years.
Blood and Bone[]
After the monkey attack, Thorn was sent to the Goodleaf in order to heal his torn ear. As she worked, he noticed that she looked somewhat familiar, and he was instantly at ease. Thorn asked her if they had met before, and she shook her head. As the Goodleaf instructs him to hold a poultice to his ear, Thorn realizes that she couldn't speak.
Later Thorn asks Tendril Crownleaf about Pear's muteness. She says how her mate, Seed (Stinger) killed the former Crownleaf and when he was confronted, he kidnapped Berry and ran.
