Orchid, or Great Father Orchid of the Goldenforest was a male baboon who was once the Great Father, long before Thorn Great Father.

Orchid is mentioned once by an elderly vulture, who remembers that Orchid could see through the eyes of other creatures.
The Spirit-Eaters[]
During Thorn's coronation, in which he becomes Great Father, Thorn sees an apparition of a baboon among the ghosts of the Great Parents. This Baboon might have been Orchid's ghost.
