The rank of Lowleaf used to be the third highest rank, only ranking above Deeproots. After Stinger Crownleaf established the rank of Strongbranches, Lowleaves became the fourth highest rank. Previously, when a baboon managed to complete one of the Three Feats, they were promoted to the rank of Lowleaf. Lowleaves aren't usually allowed to fight, and with the creation of Strongbranches, they are treated unfairly and poorly.
