Detailed Plot[]

Prologue[]

Stonehide's point of view.

Stonehide examines an abandoned termite nest and believes that it will make the perfect den for him and his mate Silvertail. Silvertail compliments Stonehide and asks him if there will be enough room for the two cubs she is expecting. Shocked that he will be having two cubs Stonehide happily leaves to look for leaves for their bedding. Silvertail calls to him saying that she smells lions. Stonehide runs back to her and tells her to get inside the den. Stonehide faces a male lion who swipes at him, Stonehide unharmed bites the lion’s front paw and tells him to scram. As the lion leaves, Stonehide notices that the lion has a smug look. He hears Silvertail’s scream in the distance and races to the den to find a trail of blood leading to the forest. As Stonehide catches up he sees two lions holding up Silvertail’s corpse. Before Stonehide could attack the lions he sees three more join the two. One of the lions laughs and calls Silvertail an easy picking.
